Simply Red Concert

Attended Simply Red concert at Church Road Winery, Napier. Fantastic show by one of the best bands ever to come out of the UK. Highlights: World class performance by world class musicians. You cannot put these guys in a box; they stand in a class of their own. Met up with bass guitarist Steve Lewinson before the show. (See separate entry below.) Lowlights: Security, as always, was rigorous and no recording devices were allowed, which included cameras. However, early in the concert Mick announced to the crowd, “By the way, I don’t mind you taking photos” before adding sardonically, “they’re all on the internet anyway.” This news was received enthusiastically by a grateful audience!
